Compelling Reasons to Be Authentic Not Rude | #PeopleSkills #Leadership

As I see people being rude and calling it authenticity, I am compelled to share the compelling reasons to be authentic without being rude. Relationships are easily broken; take care of them!

Compelling Reasons to Be Authentic Not Rude

  1. Authenticity is a courageous and generous gift while rudeness robs people of dignity. Generosity will always outpace robbery.

  2. Authenticity connects while rudeness disconnects. Connection takes you places that disconnection can’t.

  3. Authenticity builds trust while rudeness undermines it. Without trust, you’re nowhere. This is one of the most compelling reasons to be authentic not rude.

  4. Authenticity removes people’s fears of being conned while rudeness is a form of conning others. Don’t be fooled into thinking that rude negative people are easier to trust.

  5. Authenticity speaks the truth by filtering out personal bias. Rudeness dumps personal bias on others. Dumping never builds positive relationships.

  6. Authenticity shows maturity and emotional intelligence while rudeness screams out selfishness and immaturity. How often do you want to be around selfishness?

  7. Authenticity respects others and their views while rudeness disrespects them. Respect avoids inflicting scars that could otherwise haunt *you forever. The power of respect is one of the most compelling reasons to be authentic not rude.

  8. Important Reasons in Business

  9. Authenticity of great leaders inspires resilience in tough times while leaders’ rudeness demoralizes team members. What the heck will demoralized people achieve?

  10. Authenticity honors differences while rudeness disdains them. Behavioral norms vary by culture, gender, and generation. To succeed at work, honor the differences and find the fit.

  11. Authenticity shows customers you empathize and care while rudeness drives them to your competitors. To succeed in business be honest with care not blunt and rude.

  12. Authenticity builds strong team relationships while rudeness breaks them apart. How will you achieve success if others won’t work with you?

  13. And the Core Learning!

  14. Authenticity is open to evidence that is opposite to its views; rudeness accuses and blames. At work this blame becomes a toxic culture that spirals everyone down. This is one of the less visible yet compelling reasons to being authentic not rude.

  15. And the Core Truth!

  16. Authenticity speaks the truth without insulting; rudeness insults and is hard to hear. Help others to hear your message without the distraction of insults.
