Your leading morale mindset plays a large role in reshaping the mindsets of those you lead. Their mindsets shape the team interaction, cooperation, inventiveness, and output. Whether you are a manager, team leader, or leader of the entire organization, part of your role in leading morale is to nourish the mindsets of those you lead. Here’s why this is important.

Leading Morale Mindset from Scarcity to Abundance
Do your employees (aka team members) believe that you see them as an abundance of talent? Are they thinking that you see them and their talents/skills as vital to the success of the projects and the organization as a whole? You may give these questions quick ‘yes’ answers. Yet, leading morale requires that you nourish their mindsets and morale regularly.
When you don’t, normal human doubts about their own value can creep in and affect team interaction, morale, and results. When those employees slip into their doubts, they slip into the scarcity mindset — thinking they don’t have unique value to share and contribute. If you want maximum contribution, innovative ideas, and dynamic cooperation, here’s what you can do.
What You Can Do as Leaders to Nourish the Abundance Mindset
-
Highlight their individual talents in team meetings. This recognition most certainly builds an abundance mindset.
-
Watch your words and tone of voice. When you ask them questions, don’t accuse with why didn’t you? Instead ask them how their talents can solve the current problem.
-
Develop a collaborative culture. A purely competitive culture breeds envy which can destroy the teamwork needed for winning results.
